We just received a call tonight from 1-800-891-5901 and the Caller ID said it was a Toll Free Call. They asked to speak to me by name and Maryann told them Henry was her husband. They proceeded to tell her that they were soliciting for the Vermont Police Association, I believe, and Maryann told them that we did not give to organizations over the phone, but if they wanted to put something in the mail to us we would look at it and consider it. He told her that they were prohibited from sending stuff like that in the Mail. Maryann asked him if they were in Vermont and he told her the name, which I don't remember and they were out of state and had been contracted by The Vermont Police Association. Maryann told him that the last time someone called stating they were soliciting for The Vermont Police Association she called the State Police and they stated they had not contracted anyone to solicit for them. He then told Maryann, How about I put you on our do not call list?

Thanks for the heads-up, Henry!

Great job Mom! And yes I do not donate without anything in writing; thanks to my parents training. The calls come more often now too. Also, I am so tired of the car warranty expired call on my phone. This too is a bunch of bull.

That's why I like caller id. If I don't recognize the # and don't feel like talking to one of these people I don't. Sometimes I will just to get rid of them because I know they'll continue to call back.

Way to be on the stick, Mrs R. My rule as a small business owner who gets these scumbags on the phone daily is to only donate within the community I live in so I can see the benefits of my my generousity. The only national organization I donate to is the American Cancer Society in memory of my mother.

I LOVED the movie "SUPER TROOPERS"
It made me laugh OUT LOUD and possibly made me pee myself.
