Title: The Free Egg Hunt - Who Paid For The 1600 Eggs

Well, I guess I will need to display my ignorance.  I saw the hundreds of Easter Eggs on the ground - Were those real eggs??

To me Easter Eggs are Chocolate - Maybe somebody can explain to me just what those Easter Eggs were, you know like you were telling someone who had never been on an Easter Egg Hunt - That would be me.

Those kids in the photos that Katrina took really looked happy and can't believe they would be that happy just finding real eggs.

Also, there must have been some expense involved here, who covered that expense??

I think they were plastic eggs with candy inside. My guess is the Rec Committe paid for it. Or Success X 6. Not really sure.
That would be a lot of eggs that needed to be colored if that was real eggs.

I can't even begin to visualize a kid being happy to collect real eggs - Thanks for responding - I know a lot of people may think my question was really stupid, but we have to realize that not all of us come from the same backgrounds and mine never included an Easter Egg Hunt.

They were plastic eggs - we split the cost between success by six and the rec department - Thought it was worth it for the kids of the community - overall cost wasn't so much because we bought them as large quantities - we also gave out candy bags - when the kids turned their eggs in so we don't need to purchase eggs again in future years.

Smart indeed.  they have a similar commuity event in the Adriondacks - where i use to vacation.  Though - they'd drop over 1000 'sealed' eggs from a waterplane onto a field and then let the kids run out to get them.  they turn the eggs in, which had certain markings on them that correlated with certain prizes - candy bags, gift certs. to local shops, soda and food passes, etc - all sponsored by the local business committee. 

Great job - Katrina and success by six folks. Kids DO LOOK content & excited.

Big thank you should go to Katrina and Patricia Hendee from Success by Six for planning and running this event. They both put in a good deal of time and energy in making this happen for the community, including spending all morning at the RecPark setting up and taking down the event. All the kids looked like they had a great time and the weather was perfect.

I also want to thank Patricia for doing much of the leg work - including stuffing all the bags!  I also wanted to thank Green Mountain Coffee for donating coffee for the parents!
