Title: Nice Turnout At Seniors - Officers Had A Meeting With Katrina
Post by: Henry on April 22, 2009, 07:33:19 AM
Things appear to be getting back to normal as we had 47 Seniors in attendance to share a nice Turkey Dinner.  Katrina Antonovich, our Fairfax Park & Recreation Director came and offered to do whatever she could to find things for us old timers to do.  She is working on a grant right now to get a WII.  She thought if she was able to get one that the Seniors might enjoy the bowling game that goes with it and if the Teen Center opens back up they would also enjoy it.

I've never actually seen one, but have seen people on television using them.  There are a lot of various activities, but the group has a lot of varying interests, so to get a large enough group interested in one thing can sometimes be a problem.

Katrina is such a nice helpful person with a pleasant personality and certainly puts a lot of effort in her job.  Her main goal is to find things and provide them for free for everyone in town, from the very young to those in their Golden Years.  I'm not sure we were very helpful, as even with the small group we had, it was difficult to find more than one interested in a particular thing.

One thing everybody seems to be in agreement with and that is their main objective when they come is to enjoy a good meal.

One of the other things we discussed was having different people with different talents come for a short presentation or display of their talents.
