Title: Five Questionable Request For Registration On This Forum
Post by: Henry on April 24, 2009, 08:29:25 AM
Over the past seven days, I have had five questionable requests for Registration on this Forum that I have not approved.  I have sent out five e-mails, however have not received a response.  I will give them a couple more days to respond, but if hear nothing will send them a reject note.

Some people just love to invade forums and I do my best to keep this one clean.

You've got to do what you've got to do.  I for one am very familiar what a few unrurly members can do.  I've seen more than one public forum be decimated by 'flamers' or posters who either can't muster an intelligent response or counter argument or just plain want to ruin things by insulting others.  Everyone's entitled to their own opinion as far as i'm concerned, they're just not entitled to attacking the individual who's opinion is contrary to their own.  An argument, in terms of Debating is about posing the more effective response or counter response.  I'm not sure some folks realize that.  Civility is a word i've used often when describing disagreeign with others - whether in real life or in cyber-space.  Not only does everyone maintain respect when being civil, but they also retain credential and the respect of onlookers.

Thanks for your attention to this Henry, it's very important to maintain a decorum on sites like these - especially when so many folks value them.

On a TOTALLY seperate note - is there anyway to activate an automatic spell-check.  My typing, and thus my spelling, can be a bit atrocious at times.  :)

There isn't an automated one, just the one at the bottom of where you post.  Also, some of you may not be aware, but if you have posted something and want to go back in and change it, you can modify your own post by clicking on the modify tab at the top when you reopen your post.

I sometimes go in and use spellcheck on some of the post, trying to make sure I change nothing but the spelling, also sometimes my brain and my fingers don't always work well together and what I thought I typed and actually are two different things.
