Animal Control Officer/Second Constable

The Town of Fairfax is accepting applications for an Animal Control Officer/Second Constable.  Candidates will be responsible for enforcing the Ordinance relative to uncontrolled and unregistered dogs, respond to calls involving animals that may be lost, injured, trapped, or dangerous.  Responsibilities will include the handling of animals in a humane and responsible manner, deal tactfully but firmly with animal owners, and exercise independent judgment.  As Second Constable, duties will include assisting the Health Officer in the discharge of his or her duties, remove disorderly people from town meeting and serve civil process.  Individual should be good at deescalating and resolving conflicts.
