Title: Misunderstanding Of Swine Flu Effects Pork Prices
Post by: Henry on April 30, 2009, 10:25:26 AM
Pork prices are falling as financial markets worry that people will have second thoughts about buying pork, even though the deadly strain may not come entirely from pigs and can't be spread by eating pork.

U.S. officials say they may abandon the term "swine flu" for fear it's confusing people into thinking they can catch it from pork. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it's seeing a "fair amount of misconception" over the name.

Among new names suggested are, "novel flu," or the "North American influenza."

Now is the time to fill up your freezer with pork.

The night before last my daughter did say (I guess we can't eat anymore pork) I explained you could not get it from eating pork.   Hopefully no one more dies of this flu, and it works its course and goes away quickly.
