Miles I. Hobart

Underhill - Miles Irving Hobart, 55 passed away on Sunday May 17, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Health Center in Burlington.  He was born on August 1, 1953 in Colchester, VT son of Violet (Griffin) Hobart and the late Irving Hobart.  He proudly served our country with the U. S. Army.  He had been employed by Revision Eyewear and enjoyed his co-workers there. Outside of work he loved to read and always had a book with him.  Miles enjoyed the company of others especially pets, elderly and children.  He took pleasure from fishing, golfing, collecting guns and target shooting.  He was a loyal member of the VFW Post #782 in Burlington.  Miles was a loving and caring son, brother, nephew and uncle who will be missed by all.

He is survived by:  His mother Violet (Griffin) Hobart of Underhill;  His brother Kyle Hobart and wife Sarah of Underhill;  His brother-in-law Bradley Eldred and his wife Nancy of Underhill;  His Great Aunt Arlene Griffin of Waterville;  His Uncle Earl Stanley Griffin and wife Hilda of South Burlington;  Two nieces:  Hannah Eldred;  Katherine Hobart;  Two Nephews:  Colin Eldred;  Bradley Eldred;  And many cousins.

He was also predeceased by:  His sister Phyllis Eldred;  His two Aunts:  Aunt Mona Johnson and husband Ward;  Aunt Lucille Bebee and husband Ray;  His Great Uncle Greg Griffin.

There will be no public visiting hours.  A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Underhill where full military honors will be accorded this veteran on Thursday May 21, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Kevin Goldenbogen officiating.   Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Miles to either the American Heart Association Vermont Chapter Inc. 434 Hurricane Lane Williston, VT 05495 or to American Cancer Society 121 Connor Way P.O.
