“Hi All,
Last year, Justin Brown and Rev Elizabeth took a group of youth from the high school on a community service trip to Guatemala. This year during winter vacation they are taking a group of six youth to Managua, Nicaragua for a work/service trip and will be living and working in the same community, La Primavera, that the guest folk dancers came from last year.
They had an exciting and meaningful trip to Guatemala last year, and are hoping again to experience a new culture, learn about life in the third world, and share a bit of hope with others.
The group raises the majority of their funds, and meets weekly to discuss cross-cultural experiences, learn a bit of Spanish, and find out about the history of Nicaragua.
Minor's store has very kindly said that anyone who wishes to support the trip can simply request that their bottle/can redemption money be donated to BFA Community Service Trip.
They plan to have lots of photos and stories for me when they return!
