Title: George Cunningham To Be Interred In St. Luke Cemetery

GEORGE F. CUNNINGHAM SOUTH BURLINGTON - George F. Cunningham, Jr., 79, of South Burlington, formerly of Winooski and Essex Center, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington following a courageous battle with cancer. George was born in Somerville, Mass. on March 1, 1930, the son of George F. and Estelle (Price) Cunningham, Sr. He was a veteran who served with the United States Army Air Corp, and was employed for many years as an engineer at I.B.M. George was married in Essex Center in 1982 to Rosemarie (Kleespies) Cunningham. He was a champion coupon shopper, and loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; his children, Bonnie Day and husband Milo, George F. Cunningham III, Arthur Cunningham and wife Deborah, Michael Cunningham, Patricia Gibson and husband Paul, John Cunningham and wife Jeannette, twins, Charles Cunningham, and Elizabeth Crowe and husband Chris; step-children, DeWayne Currier and wife Sally, Jeanette Currier, John Currier, Michelle Cramp and husband Robert, and Valerie Reilly; two brothers, Harold Cunningham, and John "Jackie" Cunningham and wife Fran; one sister, Sally Jardim; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents; his 1st wife, Jean (Beausoliel) Cunningham; a sister, Katherine Norton; and a brother, Arthur Cunningham. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. in Winooski. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, VT Division, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, VT 05495-1460. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Winooski. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery in Fairfax.
