Title: One Barn Rises And Another Barn Vanishes
Post by: Henry on June 05, 2009, 11:53:07 AM
While up on The Swamp Road, Pete & Madonne Rainville's barn is rising from the ashes, the Old Clesson Billado Barn is being demolished and torn down.  It is located on Richards Road in Fairfax

There is still some old hay left in the hay mow

The old milkhouse sits out front nearly intact

There is a market for re-claimed wood. Maybe not so much right now, but there is.

I did a project where we had to use Jarrah Wood for the flooring.
It was re claimed from old railroad ties used in Australia.

The closest place I get was actually in up state NY.

Me trying to save a buck on material costs I didn't order enough.

The bill for the extra material was whopper.

Trucked from upstate New York to Dayton, OH.
Flown from Dayton to Anchorage.

If you ever pass through the Alaska Airlines Board Room in Anchorage think of me when you look at the wood floors.

I have not lived that one down yet.
