Title: Higher Than Average State Police Presence In Town
Post by: Henry on June 10, 2009, 08:13:42 AM
Have received a number of reports of groups of two or three Vermont State Police Cars gathered in town.  Three were seen up at the car wash, a couple up at Minor's store and on several occasions, a couple going up and down the Fletcher Road.  Last week's Vermont State Police Activity report indicated a couple of  vandalisms here in town.

I welcome their presence. Teens hanging out on the big green bridge a few months ago actually were parked on the bridge and refused to let me pass! My husband keeps informing me to lock the house and car because of the vandals. It's hard to believe I have spent my whole life (almost) in Vermont and I always supposed it was a safe place and things like stealing and vandalism only happened in big towns, like Burlington. It's a shame it has moved north.

Three or four State Police cars located here in Fairfax at once are not here for Vandalism, but of course that is my personal view.

I've seen a higher Police presence everywhere lately- Essex, Westford, Fairfax, I-89.... Even traveling on I-91 through Mass recently, I counted no less than 13 troopers on the Massachusetts stretch of I-91.
