A Special Thanks to Sara (Daniels) Villeneuve for the following information:

I saw your post from this morning in regards to the tonight's 99th annual Alumni Banquet

Here is the "low down" on the Alumni Banquet:

Each year we join together to celebrate the newest alumni into our organization.  We begin with a social hour from 5:30-6:30 in the main lobby of our school.  We are treated to appetizers and punch coordinated by Louise Webb as well as Bob and Kathy Bessette.  At 6:30 we announce classes to come in by their year of graduation, beginning from the oldest to youngest.  After all of these alumni are seated, we welcome our graduating class one by one to enter.  The Alumni Association offers a meal for these students and invites their family and friends to join them.

After dinner is served by the National Honor Society, we welcome alumni to speak on behalf of their class and offer up information about their class as well as words of advice for our new graduates.  The Alumni Association awards the Alumni Scholarship as well as awards for students with the highest Math and Language Arts averages across their four years of school.

Dessert is served and students are often given a token of congratulations for their hard work. And the evening ends with reports from the Association’s treasurer and secretary and of course a rousing rendition of the school's alma mater.

For 99 years this tradition has held and hopefully for at least another 99 more.  It is becoming increasingly difficult as our student enrollment of the graduating classes are nearing (and topping 100) students, there is no funding for the banquet other than ticket sales and any fundraisers (such as the alumni basketball game) throughout the year.  Our pennies are very tight, almost to a breaking point.  We are always looking for new ideas, help, and of course charitable contributions.

So there is a brief overview of what to expect this evening and we sincerely look forward to a terrific event...and next year's 100 year mark of the Alumni Banquet!
