Quotes from today's Burlington Free Press:
Brittany Sweet tallied two hits for BFA and Emily Santaw had the third.
“We hit the ball — just right at them,” BFA coach Seth McQuade said. “It’s the hits we have been trying to get all year, but it just didn’t work for us today. I’ve got to give credit to Jillian; she pitched a great game. She commands the field well.”
Peoples will return its entire roster next year while BFA (17-3) graduates five players.
“They are some amazing young women who will be sorely missed in the program,” McQuade said. “The seniors did a great thing for our community. It’s been a while since we’ve been to the finals and generated this much excitement around softball. It’s something to be proud of.”
BFA senior Victoria Bessette, the losing pitcher, agreed.
“The season’s been a great ride,” she said. “The ladies have put so much heart into playing. I’m going to miss everyone very much.”

Sad to see the ride end that way, but Congrats on your accomplishments Ladies. Any time you go to the finals, you know you've had a good run and a great team to work with.
