The Fairfax Development Review Board meets on June 17th at 7 p.m. to consider a housing project to build three duplex units on the Old Kneeland Property on Hunt Street.

NIMBY!
Oh yeah, it's not my back yard anymore!
(But I wish it still was)

Is the house still there?  Where would they put the duplexes?  On the side lawn?  Three of them?  Out back?  I've got questions this morning.  I guess I won't make it to the meeting though.  (It's a bit of a commute from Wyoming!)

I think the house used to be owned by Doctor Taylor.  I could be wrong about that.  When we moved in back in the '70's there were boxes and bags of old medicine over the garage.  They were all different colored liquids in old glass bottles.  Who knows what was in there!

I guess change is inevitable whether I like it or not.  My grandparents' historic house in CT got razed to make a car parts store.

The house is still there. I don't have any idea what is going on, but the DRB would be foolish to consider the possibility of removing that house (if that is the case??).

I loved that old house! Such character, so many rooms, hidden rooms, built in cabinets and book shelves. I have fond memories of that house! Was Hunt street full of Dr.'s back in the day? I remember Betsy Berardinelli saying the old Novak house next to BFA once belonged to a doctor. Must be why they're all so big and stately looking!

I'll attend the meeting Suzy and let ya know what's going on. I think I'm free Wed eve.

Sorry, to be so obtuse, but where/what is the old Kneeland property?

My grandparents lived in that house for many years.  Doc and Nany Taylor.  I have wondeerful memories of spending vacations with my cousins and great aunts and uncles.  The house was always full and fun.  I hope the plans don't include getting rid of it.  I agree it is beautiful with lots of caracter

Is it just my imagination, or does it seem that every square inch of open space in the village is in the process of being developed?  I actually had someone tell me that I should put another house on my land to make some money.  I think I have one of the most beautiful places in the village and wouldn't plop a house in my backyard for anything.

It used to be 17 Hunt Street.
What a great place to grow up (as much as I have!  LOL!)
I always loved playing at Novak's house.  They had TWO sets of stairs...that was the coolest thing when I was a kid.  (And Amy had Barbies!)
