Post by: Henry on June 15, 2009, 07:39:37 AM
A man with a gun stole a large sum of cash and checks from Zachary's Pizza Sunday night, said Milton police.

Police say a clerk was leaving the restaurant at about 10:30 p.m. when he was confronted by a man holding a gun. The suspect grabbed the night deposit bag from the clerk and fled on foot into a wooded area behind the pizza place on U.S. 7.

The suspect is described as being roughly 6 feet tall. He was reportedly wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark baggy pants and a dark mask.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Milton Police Department at 893-2424 or Champlain Valley Crime Stoppers at 864-6666.

I was opening the Subway this morning, when around 800am a Milton Police officer came into the store and informed me about what happened at Zacharys last night. I am also a former employee of Lee Zachary's in Milton, and its a damn shame to say its not the first time an employee has been held up outside of the store. Last time the motive for the robberies was because of a pill addiction, and more than likely it was the motive in this crime. What a shame. I grew up in Milton, and in a period of two years I saw most of my friends become drug addicted, and the end result was complete separation from certain individuals because I could not trust them anymore. Just remember everybody, if you are legally prescribed drugs, be very cautious of who you tell.
