There were several people going to the meeting last night, but didn't hear anything back, so it must have been kind of uneventful or else the people planning the development are doing everything according to the guidelines.
I don't live in the Village, but do believe that you only need 1/3 acre of land for a lot, so if you had an acre you could build three houses on it. I am not sure how many houses are planned for the Hubbert Lot on the corner of Huntville Road & Route 104. I believe anybody adding houses must dig their own water wells, but believe there is enough sewerage capacity. If there wasn't you certainly could not have a septic system and a water well on a 1/3 acre lot as a well has to have 100ft clearance from the septic system.
I believe that Fairfax Village is considered the Growth Area and is High Density, thus the 1/3 acre lots.
If you are interested in how development is managed here in Fairfax, there is a Public Forum scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 1009 at 7 p.m. in the BFA Fairfax Multi-Purpose Room hosted by The Fairfax Planning Commission.
