Back at the track after a night in a motel.
Weather looks better for today, with a mix of sun and clouds.
There is a wind out of the northwest about 10-20 miles am hour.
We're close enough to Lake Ontario so it is not a warm wind. Dare I say it's downright chilly out.
But it's not raining. (Knock on wood.)
For location purposes, we are 15 miles north of Watertown, which is a stone's throw from
the eastern edge of Lake Ontario.

Just got back from the store up a couple miles from the track.
On the edge of the parking area was an elderly Amish man and a child with a buggy(no horse)and a table with baked goods for sale. Carl bought a strawberry-rhubarb pie and a loaf of homemade white bread. I bought a small bag of oatmeal raisin creme filled sandwi h style cookie-things and a cherry pie. The oatmeal raisin things are gone already, but I'm trying to hang on to the pie to bring home.
Didn't even try to get a picture. The Amish frown on that sort of thing.

Everyone is showing up now. The pit gate isn't open yet, so we are all hanging out along the "driveway".
We had drizzle at 1:50pm, but dry now. Very cloudy. It feels like October on the Fourth of July.
-
We got into the pit area and have been hanging out for a while.
And now at 5:20pm the sun has come out. We may just get this in after all.

Henry, If you get a chance, please post this picture. Add a reply post to Can-Am day 2. Mention that the pit area was so muddy that they called on a friend to bring in some hay. But as you can see, the sun is shining. Thanks! Mike

Anthony completed hot laps at 9:15. Looked good.
Started outside pole in heat 1 and went out and WON!
Looked really good.
More later.
-
Anthony started on the outside pole and went on to WIN the Dash.
He starts 4th in the A-Main.

Fate really piddled on Anthony for the A-Main. When they went to push the cars off, the pushtruck jumped the bumper or something, and ran over Anthony's right rear tire, cutting it, and left Anthony with a flat tire. He had to come in and change the tire, and went back out. The tire was not the same size, and the handling was way off. Anthony had trouble getting the car thru the corners, and he parked it, finishing 22nd out of 26 cars.
