July 4th celebration is one thing, being a nuisance is quite another, this was the latter.  I reiterate.

We watched the fireworks from the comforts of home & enjoyed them this past weekend! They were beautiful ! We could see them perfectly! Well done & not a lot of noise, just as the ones on the fourth were, when I got to be the one to hold my 9mo. granddaughter to see her 1st fireworks before she headed home. So, some neighbors down on Hunt street thankyou!

"July 4th celebration is one thing"

Everyone has their own reasons for celebrating.  If they are acceptable for your celebration, then they should be acceptable for all celebrations.

Well stated 7F24.

I think that falls in the "tolerance for others" category.

Personally, I might not appreciate it either if it was the same neighbors EVERY weekend really late at night, but once in a while, it's great to know someone is celebrating something.

If we had known I'm sure that we would have been watching from the van with a bag of popcorn between us, just like when we were kids.  What time and how long did they last?

If you checked your facts you would have seen that I was not the one with the fireworks on the fourth merely watching them (the sourrounding area) from my living room.
When they were held last year there were permits retrieved and all laws were followed.  On July 4th fireworks are expected and appreciated any other time of year regardless of who is doing them or what for, it is a nuisance and unlawful.

For what it's worth, July 19 is a United Arab Emirates public Holiday - so perhaps someone was celebrating that... Or perhaps this shouldn't happen because they're in the US.

Also Deanne, have you confirmed whether or not proper permits were obtained (although I also doubt they were) before claiming these particular fireworks "unlawful"?

PS- It's also "National Raspberry Cake Day" which is reason enough to celebrate!

Dearon only stated their opinion so why do you all have to jump all over them?

I never jumped all over dearon, I only said I thought she liked fireworks.  I now understand that she likes fireworks when she likes fireworks.  Fireworks at any other time are a nuisance.

If I had known about the raspberry cake thing I may have gotten some fireworks myself.

"Sat, 01st Aug: Girlfriend's Day"

In honor of Girlfriend's Day, I suggest everyone bring their girlfriend to the Egg Run!  Unless of course you're married, in which case that's probably not a good idea.

Trevor,
First the good news, there is a national pie day.
Now the bad,
National Pie Day

When : Always January 23rd

That's not to say you can't go out and get a pie, you just can't do the fireworks until then.  I'm just going by what the UN stipulates in regards to international celebrating of holidays.

Unless the select board changed the rules in the past 2-3 weeks, the proper permits were not obtained and these fireworks were unlawful. In a previous thread it was discussed at length that the town of Fairfax is not issuing any permits for fireworks.
