Title: Essex, Richmond Farmers Hope To Spread Treated Sewage

My personal opinion on this is they need to find another way of utilizing or disposing of this treated sewage.  Now, I suspect since this is treated, it will not be as bad as the experiment that was done a number of years ago by Farmer Joe Lemire conjunction with P&P Septic.

Those of you that travelled Route 128 in those days definitely made sure you had your windows closed from just beyond the Weed Road up to The Hunter Farm.  Those poor people with all those nice houses sure put up with a lot during that experiment as the smell was really bad.

Henry,

I grew up in that stretch of rte 128 in Essex.  I think you're referring to John-Paul Lemire.  I was always under the assumption that he was spreading whey- but it certainly DID have a very strong odor, so it wouldn't surprise me if it were sewage...

You know. "Treated Sewage" does NOT sound like a terrific fertilizer.

Is this EPA and USDA approved?
