More strange birds.  These were on the Flanders Rd.

Kinda look like a cross b/w a pheasant and quail.

Oh NO, not....Teenage Mutant....Pheasants??

Whatever they are, they're kind of creepy and pudgy looking!

I believe those are guinea fowl. a quick Google search describes them as great for controlling insect and tick populations.

I'm pretty sure they are Guinea Hens.  I grew up next to a family who raised them, although I don't know why.  This is the first time I've seen them since I was a kid.  They were always out in the middle of the road and when a car would come by, they would move at their own pace and not be bothered by the traffic at all.  They were a simple nuisance at times, but they were nothing compared to the Mink that family also raised -- mink are mean and they smell really, really bad!!

Nice - i spent 20 minutes researching Vt Game and Woodland birds.  I was about to move to the International Game Bird Database to check there.  :)
