Channel 3 News reported that there was a big mess in Fairfax last night when a tractor trailer overturned, spilling corn all over the road. It happened on Route 104-A outside the village. Police say it appears the driver lost control on the curve -- and the truck flipped over on its side -- dumping its full load -- tons of corn. The driver was not badly hurt -- but was taken to the hospital.
The road was closed for a number of hours and thank God it was corn. The last time a tractor trailer rolled over on that curve, thousands and thousands of dollars was spent for the cleanup when R. L. Vallee/Ultramar had a load of fuel oil roll over on the same curve.
