Title: It Might Have Been A Bob Cat/Fisher Cat
Post by: Henry on August 06, 2009, 07:48:00 AM
Strangely enough even though there is development in an area, the wild animals don't seem to want to change their route.  In all the years I have lived at my location here on The Fletcher Road, where The Tracy Road is now has been where animals cross the road.

Last night on my way home from The BCA Meeting a black animal ran across the road in front of me.  It appeared to have short legs as it sped across the road in front of me and looked very much like it might be a Bob Cat or a Fisher Cat.

Don't know if there are many around this area, but this sure looked like one.

I've seen a few fishers around here, never a bobcat.

I've seen a bobcat in Georgia and a fisher cat in Franklin.  My daughter as well as a few other people had seen a catamount in Georgia (2001) by her house which is off Oakland station.

a Chupacabra is a mythological beast i thought - still believed to roam certain rual areas by some superstitous natives.  It's from the spanish words chupar - 'to suck' and cabra - "goat" = meaning is Goat Sucker.
