Title: JoAnne Didn't See A Rainbow, But A Fat Deer & Some Birds
Post by: Henry on August 12, 2009, 07:11:40 AM
JoAnne didn't mention it to me, but the deer in the photo actually looks like it needs to exercise just a bit.

Hi Henry,
I didn't see any rainbows, yesterday. I did see this great blue heron, bittern, and white tail deer on the route.

JoAnne responded to my comment about the Fat Deer:

Henry,
Wild animals don't usually overeat. I wonder if the doe is pregnant with a very late fawn. She was very jittery. I don't know if a fawn born this late would survive the winter???

I remember seeing twin fawns in August when we lived in Essex town and we saw them the next year.  It is late thought.  We had one born in our back yard behind the barn on River road in June so I guess it is later than normal.
