I went up to the PYO Blueberry Farm up on Richards Road, off McNall, and the blueberries are both plentiful and tasty...and convenient too. I just might go back tomorrow and pick some more. They are open tomorrow and then again on Saturday. It is apparently a bumper crop. They will be great in the middle of January.

My son-in-law, Mike went up Saturday. They had some already picked so he bought those. Lynn made a fresh blueberry cake. It was delicious. We had it with our brunch on Sunday morning.

The berries are plentiful this year we've gotten enough to make 3 batches of blueberry jam, freeze 24 quarts and used 30 lbs for making wine. We gave away just as many as we used. We've been picking raspberries for a couple of weeks now and they are beautiful this year. I hear the blackberries in the woods are ready for picking but haven't had the time with everything I got to take care of in the garden. I've been giving all the extra to my kids who really enjoy it, but are getting mighty sick of the blueberries. Our corn was ready a few day ago so we had some yesterday. Tonight was veggie supper, two kinds of squash, cucumbers, green beans and steak. I love summer.
