Title: I Smell Fall
Post by: Henry on August 27, 2009, 07:09:59 AM
Temperature was in the very, very low 40s here on the Fletcher Road.  Bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky or breeze blowing.  The chunky little beef cattle across the road feasting away on the yet unfrozen grass.  Not that far away set up is going on for The Champlain Valley Fair which opens this Saturday - All smells like fall to me.

We hit 67 here at the house today but the air IS more chilly.

It is weird how you can ACTUALLY smell fall. I can.

Maybe it is the less humidity in the air????? I have no idea. But I too can actually smell it. Fresher.

We did have our 1 week of summer, I guess we'll go right into fall, from 94 to 60's.

Had all the windows in the house open yesterday to air it out from the many air conditioned days, then closed them last night.  Temperature in the living room this morning was a cool 66 degrees while outside it was 41 degrees.  It will warm up on its own then will probably open the windows again, but close them a little earlier tonight as temperatures are expected to dip down into the 30s.

I could take weather like this all year long.

That all depends on your definition of the word summer.  Here in the temperate rain forest it was fairly normal.  No worries about melanoma cancer up here! I bet we have one of the lowest rates on the planet for pities sake!
