Scammers are trying to get your personal information -- with bogus web sites that offer online vehicle registration renewal. The websites are Business-dot-com and v-t-registration-renew als-dot-com. They pop up near the top of the list on search engines. The Vermont department of motor vehicles says the sites are hosted by foreign domains -- and they are actually paying Google to be near the top when people search for terms like "vermont registration renewal" -- and then they try to get your credit card info.
"And the big message here is whenever you do business, do business with the official site. This is a site trying to do you a favor and say don't stand in the lines, you know, you do it online here. We do have online capability but do it through the DMV directly, do not try to use a shortcut." The D-M-V is working with search engines to get the sites removed. It's not known how many people might have used the bogus sites.

I can't tell the fake from the real - Guess if in a real rush, just go down to the Fairfax Town Office and renew there.
Kind of scary
