Title: Ted Kennedy Memorial Speeches Quite Interesting
Post by: Henry on August 29, 2009, 07:05:07 PM
I listened to a number of speeches given to honor Senator Ted Kennedy and found them quite interesting.  It may have been because they were true stories about his life and interactions with the people telling the story.  I don't believe they tried to make him something he wasn't.  Normally, I have to admit I would not really bother to watch, but for some reason, the TV was on and it grabbed my attention and I actually watched quite a bit of it.

He certainly had a long career and to be honest with you, I can't really remember a particular thing he was pushing that I strongly disagreed with, although I don't get into politics that much.  It was nice to see people from both parties speak and speak so highly of the man.

I am a registered Democrat, but do not vote a straight party ticket.  Interestingly enough, I listen to my kids talk and neither do they.  I believe that many people in this day and age vote for the man and not the party.  I always come out of the voting booth feeling very comfortable that I voted for who I wanted with no ties to anyone.

Henry,

Ted Stevens said that one of his first calls of support after he was indited, was from Ted Kennedy.

I am a registered Independent.

I only vote REP lines for US President and US House and Senate.

I am going to have a hard time this next election for US House.
A guy I know professionally is running against Don Young as a DEM.
Don Young has been in office longer than I have been voting age.

This guy running against Don Young has been to my door and talked to me. He has been my districts State Senate representative for 12 years.
Don Young has never been to my door....

POLLY TICS.... funny stuff.........
