Lise P. Airoldi
East Highgate, Vermont - Lise P. Airoldi, of East Highgate, 74, left us peacefully, after a courageous and graceful battle with Parkinson’s on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Redstone Villa in St. Albans.
Lise’s life was spent as a mother and a great homemaker. For years Lise enjoyed going to camp with her husband Herve. They spent many a weekend at this private get-away. Lise loved gardening and canned many pickled beets, beans, dill pickles and green tomatoes. Lise loved being in the kitchen, she always made sure that you didn’t leave the table hungry! It was always amazing how creative she was with a nice ham from Joe’s Market. Lise produced numerous meals from a single ham down to the last spoonful of pea soup.
Lise had many hobbies and interests, including gardening, sewing, bird watching and adding to her many collections of trinkets. She also belonged to the Franklin County Home Dem Group and was a 4-H Leader.
Lise was born in Hardwick, VT January 12, 1935, the daughter of Servand and Hosanna LeBlanc. Lise was a longtime resident of East Highgate and a member of the St. Louis Church. Lise was predeceased by her loving husband, Herve F. Airoldi on August 16, 2007, and her sons, James Robert and Allen Andre. Lise is survived by her children Daniel H. Airoldi and his wife Jayne of Essex, Lena R. (Airoldi) Nielsen, of Jeffersonville, daughter-in-law Lynne M. Airoldi of Fairfax, Herve J. Airoldi and his wife Wendy, of Enosburg, Paul A. Airoldi and his wife Janice, of East Highgate, grandchildren Daniel, Joshua, Luke, Elisabeth, Ashley, Alex, Allyson, Seth, Bailey, Michael, Mitchell, Andrea, Anthony, Allyssa, Dylan, Kaylynne, and Maya, 6 great-grandchildren Daniel, Emma, Sydney, Emily, Michael, and Brody. Lise also leaves behind many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and her dear friends Mary, Jeannette and Diane.
Lise’s family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the management and staff at Redstone Villa for their excellent care, love and support during her stay there.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 7th at 1 p.m. from St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Lamkin Street, Highgate Center. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Airoldi family lot in Saint Louis Cemetery. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Gifts in Lise’s memory may be made to the, Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, Saint Albans 05478.
