The above photo shows Maryann and I just leaving for our wedding trip. The house in back of us is the house where Ed Paquin lives now. We were headed up to Sherbrooke, PQ, Canada where we had gone up a few weeks earlier and reserved a room at a motel. Don't remember the name of it, but the cost for the night was $10.
We had brought our luggage up to Maryann's Aunt, who ran the Lilley Funeral Home up in Hyde Park a week earlier also. They probably don't do that now, but in earlier years, there were a lot of pranksters who would get into your luggage and do strange things and play pranks, so we just wanted to make sure none of that was done.
Lots of times also, friends would follow you, but I don't remember any of that happening.
We had a grand total of $87 to spend on our honeymoon. This was money that Maryann had saved. My savings were nil, so it is quite obvious that Maryann didn't marry me for my money. Our $87 took us through three days and we went to Quebec City. When we returned from our honeymoon, we lived in a furnished apartment across from the Fairgrounds, in the vicinity of where McDonalds is now. Cost for the apartment was $65 a month. Maryann worked as a medical secretary at The Mary Fletcher and I worked at IBM.
All fond memories and every year has gotten better
