Title: Times, They Are Ah Changing
Post by: Henry on September 21, 2009, 09:21:33 AM
I remember years ago when Maryann and I would go on a trip we always brought something home for those we left behind.  We no longer travel, at least any further than Burlington, so now when the kids go on a trip they always bring back goodies, something they know we will enjoy.

This past weekend, Mary Kay took a trip to Martha's Vineyard with Bonnie Nichols to visit another old time friend, The Former Bonnie Rouhan who lives on Martha's Vineyard.  She picked up some Chocolate/Peanut Butter and Straight Peanut Butter Fudge, along with what are probably the most delicious doughnuts I ever tasted.  Like everything else on Martha's Vineyard, they are not cheap, as they cost $1 a piece.  They are large doughnuts like Mother used to make and taste similar.  I believe the place is called Back-Door, or something like that, however, they definitely are doughnuts to die for.

She actually brought the doughnuts for Maryann, but thank God!!  Maryann was brought up to share.  I, in turn, am sharing my fudge with her.

Seems like as we get older, our roles change, we now act like the kids and the kids act like the parents (except when it comes to telling us what to do, they haven't mastered that yet).

Henry, I have a feeling that your kids DO tell you what to do.... You just don't listen ;)

It's ok.  My Dad's the same way.
