Title: Sterling Coon's Brother Johnson Coon Passes Away At Age 73

NAUGATUCK, Conn.

    Johnson F. Coon, 73, of Conrad Street, died suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 30. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Favreau) Coon, his wife of 44 years.

    Mr. Coon was born in St. Albans, Vt., March 1, 1936, son of the late Henry Steven and Gertrude Mary (Cross) Coon. He was one of 16 children and was raised in St. Albans, Vt.

    He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and moved to Waterbury when he married his wife in 1956. They lived in Waterbury for many years.

    Mr. Coon served in the National Guard for 12 years and was employed by New England Masonry for more than 30 years. He was a board member of the Meadow Social Club in Waterbury.

    He is survived by a son, Michael J. Coon and his wife, Mia, of Naugatuck, Conn.; a daughter, Linda A. Dabkowski and her husband, Ted, of Bethlehem, Conn.; also b y seven brothers: Robert (Kathleen) Coon, Dale (Marcia) Coon, Henry (Sandy) Coon, of St. Albans, Keith (Paula) Coon of Milton, Sterling (Janet) Coon of Fairfax, Greg (Bea) Coon of Swanton, Stuart (Helen) Coon of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Catherine (Bruce) Ramsay of St. Albans; and four grandchildren: Stacie and Ryan Coon, and Matthew and David Dabkowski, all of Connecticut.

    Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, from Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, to Church of the Nativity, East Street, Bethlehem, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m.
