Title: Snow Above 1500 Feet Tonight
Post by: Henry on October 12, 2009, 06:45:15 PM
Well, our highest point here in Fairfax is 1378 Feet, so according to the forecast which says there will be snow above 1500 feet looks like we are safe.

Where is the high point of Fairfax? I suppose I could just look for the biggest & tallest thing, but I am short so mailboxes often get in my line of sight and throw everything off...

Todd will most likely be headed for Stowe in the morning singing "I'll Be Coming Round The Mountain," as he drives up through Morrisville.

We had a discussion on this last year.  If you click on the following thread it will show you it is called Buck Mountain - At the top of Buck Hill I believe.

We had some wet snow flakes falling in the yard this morning.  Everything stayed green/brown, but it was the first snow I've seen.  Not counting a minute or two of BB sized hail a couple days ago.

There was snow up in the Notch this morning, but the road was still open. I hope it will still be open tonight on my way home.

Here is a picture from this morning:

Really nice photo Todd - Looks like where you head down the Stowe side where that sharp turn is that the Tractor Trailers like to get hung up on.

that is exactly where that is from. Same place I took the picture of the stuck tractor trailer last month. There was actually a little bit more snow at the highest part of the road, but I didn't think to pull over and take a picture until just before the hairpin.
