Title: Halloween Is Just Around The Corner
Post by: Henry on October 24, 2009, 08:13:29 AM
When I got the photo from JoAnne, it dawned on me that Halloween is indeed just around the corner.  I have seen some places decorated during the day, but do very little driving at night, so most likely missed a bunch of them.

On the other hand, looks like some people are getting started early with their Halloween vandalism.

St. Albans Police are investigating a rash of vandalism Thursday night involving a paint-ball gun. Police say 12 homes throughout the city were targeted, and more reports were anticipated. Nine of the reported incidents occurred on Walnut Street. Police ask that anyone with information call 524-2166 or 524-6180.

A number of years ago my daughter lived in the downstairs Old Hardware Store Apartment in the center of the village and somebody went by and shot a paintball in the big picture window.  I don't know how difficult that stuff is to take off, but it just seems like a rotten thing to do.

There were rumors that pumpkins were scarce this year, but I have seen a number out on lawns.  Also, somebody told me that you couldn't buy canned pumpkin in the store, but apparently that was just a rumor as I was in Hannafords last week and noticed they had some on their shelves.

I would be happy to post any Halloween Photos anyone wants to send me.  Seems a shame when people put so much work into something that it doesn't get publicized.

I took some photos of Gary Rabideau's place on Cleary Road last year and Channel 3 was there also.  I still have the photos and Channel 3 still has the video up if you would care to look at it again:
