Fairfax Town School District Annual Meeting
The inhabitants of the town of Fairfax who are legal voters in the Annual Town School District Meeting are hereby notified and warned to meet at the Elementary Gymnasium at BFA Fairfax in Fairfax, Vermont on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 10:00am for the purpose of voting upon or transacting such business not involving voting by Australian Ballot. Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are to be voted upon by the use of the Official Australian Ballot. The polls will be open Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 7:00am and to close at 7:00pm.
Article 1 - Shall the legal voters of said school district elect the following officers by Australian Ballot?
• Moderator for Annual Town School District Meeting
• School Director for three year term
• School Director for two year term
• BFA Fairfax Trustee for five year term
Article 2 - Shall the voters of said school district appropriate $9,999,717 to meet the expenses and liabilities of the school district for fiscal year 2006-2007?
Article 3 - Shall the voters of said school district appropriate $68,000 of prior years' budget surplus toward the purchase of an additional school bus?
Article 4 - Shall the voters of said school district appropriate $60,000 of prior years' budget surplus toward the purchase of replacement computers in the Community Library and throughout the school?
Article 5 - Shall the voters of said school district appropriate $85,000 of prior years' budget surplus into the school capital improvement fund to complete Asbestos Abatement as required and other projects as funds allow?
Article 6 - Shall the voters of said school district authorize the school directors to borrow money for school expenses in anticipation of revenue for the ensuing year?
Article 7 - To approve the School Directors' report from the previous year.
Article 8 - To conduct any other legal business to come before said meeting.
Article 9 - To adjourn.
