Crews Find Downed Plane
Bennington, Vermont - October 26, 2009
Bennington police say searchers have found a plane that was reported to have crashed near the town airport.
Police say they received calls just after 7 p.m. Sunday from several eyewitnesses, including a pilot, who reported seeing the plane go down just northwest of the William H. Morse State Airport.
Bennington Police say the search resumed on Monday morning. Bennington police say a plane was found, but had no additional information about the type of plane, the number of occupants or any injuries sustained by those on board.
State, county and local officials searched the area around Whipstock Mountain Sunday night and Monday morning, about a mile from the New York border.
