SWANTON -- The Chittenden Bank branch in Swanton was robbed this morning, and police are looking for a male suspect.
State Police confirmed that the branch at 15 Canada St. had been robbed. Scanner traffic reports police are searching along the banks of the Missisquoi River for a man about 5-feet-8 wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and allegedly armed with a knife.
The bank is the third in Franklin County

LOCATION: Chittenden Bank located at 15 Canada Street in Swanton Village
ACCUSED: Unknown at this time
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
At approximately 1039 hours, the Swanton Police Department and the Vermont State Police received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Chittenden Bank on Canada Street in Swanton Village. A lone male entered the bank, brandished a knife and demanded cash. The male left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The male is described as follows:
· White male
· Age – 20’s
· Height approximately 5’8
· Slender build
· Brown hooded sweatshirt with a unique skull design on the front (see attached photos)
· White baseball cap under the hoodie
· Red scarf covering part of his face
· Brown pants
· Carried a Hannaford’s grocery bag
There were no reported injuries and there were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery.
