Post by: Mark Hunziker on October 29, 2009, 05:58:32 AM
Citizens for Fairfax Community, Inc. (CFC)
Annual Membership Meeting Minutes –6:00-8:00 PM, 10/27/09

CFC’s annual membership meeting was a fun combination of a getting-to-know-each-other party, a potluck feast, a report on where we’ve been and where we’re headed, and a brief business meeting –graciously hosted by Liz and Jason Minor in the Inn at Grace Farm common room, and attended by about twenty-four local residents. Highlights included:
▪   The announcement that we recently received the IRS’s approval as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
▪   A brief status report on our assessment of the Baptist Building as a possible community center, as well as the build-from-scratch option. In a nutshell: getting a sufficiently detailed breakdown of the costs of repairing and upgrade the Baptist Building will require obtaining funding (through a grant) for a feasibility study.
▪   Election of Amanda Duling and Melissa Beerworth as new members of the Board of Trustees and of Elizabeth Griffin for a new three-year term.
▪   Approval by the members present of two legally binding documents adopted by the Board during the course of the year: a Conflict of Interest Policy and an Amendment to our Articles of Incorporation.

Next Meeting: Mon Nov 16, 6:30 pm at 234 River Road
