Cambridge man arrested for DUI No. 4, furnishing alcohol to a minor.

A 44-year-old Cambrdige man is under arrest for a variety of charges including driving under the influence No. 4 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Vermont State Police.

The man was stopped at about 2:40 a.m. Sunday on Fletcher Road in Fletcher by police who say they saw a vehicle being operated erratically.

During the motor vehicle stop a 17-year-old female passenger was identified in the vehicle and was found to be heavily intoxicated, police said. Troopers said they learned that the Cambridge man had provided the 17-year-old with alcohol and an empty liter of vodka was found in the vehicle at the 17-year-old's feet. Due to her extreme level of intoxication, the female was transported to the Northwestern Medical Center for evaluation.

Police say the Cambridge man has multiple active arrest warrants. One of these warrants is for his failure to appear to serve a prison sentence after being convicted of his third DUI. He was also charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor, driving while license suspended (criminal), and attempting to elude, State Police said.

He was subsequently transported to the St. Albans Barracks for processing. During the processing He provided a breath sample which showed his blood alchohol content to be 0.126 percent.

He was transported to the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility where he was lodged pursuant to the arrest warrants. He is scheduled to appear in Franklin County District Court at 1 p.m. today.

Given the apparent character of this guy based on current charges and prior offences, I wonder what the relationship of the 17 yr old was to this guy.

Probably safe to say not a good one or at least it was headed that way until the trooper intervened.
