Title: MILDRED WARREN SPENDS A SLEEPLESS NIGHT
Post by: Henry on February 18, 2006, 12:31:06 PM
Hi All,

Well, early last evening, Mildred Warren got quite a surprise.  They say that most automobile accidents happen just a few miles from home, but very few indeed include a two car collision in one's own garage.  Below are a few photos I took this morning down at Mildred Warrens:

Now at first glance, one would say, boy yesterday's winds sure did a job on Mildred's Garage  --  Not True

A pickup truck came down the Fletcher Road, sideswiped the guard rails in front of Bob & Carlene Sweet's place then crossed the road and rammed into Mildred's Garage

As luck would have it, Mildred's car was in the garage, normally parked perpendicular to the Fletcher Road, but as you can see, the whole garage is kind of turned around along with her car which is now parked still in the garage almost parallel to the road.

Mildred tells me she got back in the house around 11 p.m., but was quite keyed up and never shut an eye.  Around 2 a.m. once again sirens blaring and redlights twirling, up the Fletcher Road went the Rescue Squad and Fire Department.  Apparently a vehicle hit a telephone pole near the old Finch Residence just before the Tracy Road.  I knew it wasn't very far from my house as the radios came blaring in.  As I drove down the road this morning, Verizon was working on hooking up the new telephone pole as shown in the photo below:

By this time, Mildred told me she was wide awake, so she got up and made some pancakes, slapped on some nice Vermont Maple Syrup on them, then went back to bad.

Mildred seemed pretty bright and alert today, but as you can see in the pictures, her car is in pretty bad shape.
