INCIDENT:
Accidental Farm Death

CASE #: 09A205856
TROOPER: Detective Sergeant Jim Claremont
STATION: St. Albans  CONTACT#: 524-5993

DATE/TIME/LOCATION:
The accident occurred at the Howrigan Farm on Paradee Road in Fairfield.  It occurred at approximately 4:00 PM on Tuesday, 12-22-09. 

VICTIM:
The victim was a young man from southern Mexico.  He was between 16-20 years old and his identity has yet to be verified.   

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
A farm worker was killed after part of his body got caught in a piece of equipment in a barn.  All indications are this was an accident and an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.  OSHA was contacted and will also be conducting an investigation.

It is my understanding that the piece of farm equipment was a barn cleaner on the David Howrigan Farm off the North Road just outside of Fairfield Center headed towards Sheldon.
