Title: Pipe Breaks Causing Floor To Be Flooded In St. Luke's Church
Post by: Henry on December 25, 2009, 08:42:37 AM
Hi All,

My family and I went to the 8:30 Mass Christmas Eve.  I had not noticed it, but Jeannette Wills announced before Mass that a pipe had burst and the floor up in front of where the Choir is before the Altar and flooded the floor.  Not sure just where it was, but it appeared to be near the heater where the organ was.  This happened around 6 p.m. I believe.  There were about 200 people at the 6 p.m. Mass Father Julian said.  Hopefully someone would be able to fix it last night.  If anyone has an update let me know.

I don't know if it did any damage down stairs or not.

Father Julian did mention it in his homile during the 11am mass today. He did say it was fixed last night and he mentioned that it was a much smaller problem than the fire at Steeple Market a year ago, so he was thankful for that. The carpet was still wet this morning. There was no mention of any damage to the basement.
