Title: Excellent Idea & Cost Taxpayers $0
Post by: Henry on January 01, 2010, 07:27:30 PM
McAlister did some research and learned that 37 other states already have laws that require repeat drunk drivers-- at their expense-- to install ignition-interlock devices on their cars as part of their sentence. The devices cost about $200 to install and $60 a month to monitor.

Read more about this and the 25 year old Richford Driver with 4 DUI out on bail - This item could have prevented that:

I am all for tougher DWI bills. However a man with 4 dwi's in 6 months ? I would guess he didn't have a license anyway. You see too many times the REPEAT drunk drivers keep driving with or without a license. I beleive keep it simple REPEAT drunk drivers GO TO JAIL.      But I would support this bill it does sound like a good idea for many of the first time offenders as a way to be monitored but allow them to be able to get to work (so they can pay big fine)
