Title: JoAnne Captures A Beautiful Sight In North Fairfax
Post by: Henry on January 06, 2010, 09:38:41 PM
I know the sleet was bad this morning when Mary Kay took me to the doctors.  One BFA Student went off the road right above her house and her truck was just covered with sleet.  She had to keep the defroster on high in order to keep it melted - Surprising some of the branches haven't fallen on the power lines and knocked out power.

Hi Henry,
The mist for the last few days has frozen on trees and landscape, especially in North Fairfax.
Mailboxes have at least 1/4 inch of ice coating them.
These pictures are of two trees(a before and after) taken on 1/4/10 and then today.
The ice is getting very heavy. Branches are breaking. It doesn't sound like much chance of it melting soon.
It's still pretty, though.
JoAnne
