Well, I have looked at the thermometer and Mary Spaulding just told me that it is about as cold a morning as she has felt in a long time. I am not going to be rushing out to bring my trash out this morning. I have two weeks worth of trash and recycle as I was in the midst of an allergic reaction at this time last week, so did not bring my trash out.
Its one of those clear January days with no January Thaw in the immediate future seen. I believe it reached 32 degrees on New Years Day, but has not been that high again all month.
Looks like the cold weather down in Florida will take care of a number of fresh fruits and vegetables that we usually get from there, at least for the next six weeks or so. I guess there are other places they can be brought in from, but they will be more expensive.
Haven't heard much about the Global Warming recently.

I have to respond because using today's temperature to deny Climate Change pushed one of my buttons.
The term Global Warming is not inaccurate, because the world is warming, ie. ice caps melting, but it doesn't mean there is no cold weather.
In reality, as in Florida, climates are fluctuating. The cause may be in dispute but weird weather is a reality.

Interesting link, Chris. So did we not have any weather at all from May-December of 1884? :)

Chris
According to the chart, it was warmer in 1896 than in 2009. Unbelievable.
