FAIRFAX — Vermont State Police are connecting Tuesday's arrest of two Chittenden County men with at least four Franklin County burglaries.

Jonathan Hinton, of Burlington, and Korey Murray, of Underhill, both 25, were arrested in Hinesburg after a detective familiar with other related break-ins noticed their car.

The white Subaru with a blue hood matched the description of a car spotted at a home burglary in Colchester on Monday.

According to Lt. Rob Evans of the St. Albans barracks, information has been gathered linking the two men to three burglaries in Fairfax and one in Georgia on March 31.

"Information was developed from several sources that have identified those responsible for at least four of the burglaries in our area," Evans stated in a press release Wednesday.

Evans said he expects more arrests in the case and the Investigation is ongoing. He would not say whether Hinton and Murray were directly responsible for the Franklin County burglaries.

"It's some of the same folks, they may be linked," Evans said. "Some people are cooperating more than others."

The investigation, involves both state troopers and members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Evans said.

On Mar31, a witness in Fairfax observed a suspicious blue car driving up and down the road; eventually backing into a neighbor's driveway. The witness posted an anonymous account on the Forum page of the Fairfax Information Web Site.

The witness saw two men go into a neighbor's home and come out carrying grocery bags. The witness provided a description of the men, as well as a license plate number to police.

Money and video equipment were stolen from residences in Milton and Colchester as well, police said.

Allie Duda, 24, was driving the car seized Tuesday by police in Hinesburg. She made a statement to police saying she drove Hinton and Murray to burglaries in Charlotte, Colchester, Fairfax, Hinesburg, Morrisville, Starksboro, and Stowe.

Hinton and Murray were charged with burglary of an occupied building, and more charges are likely.

They are being held at the Chittenden County Correctional Facility. The two men will likely face additional charges here in Franklin County, as well as Addison and Lamoille counties.
