EDWARD JOHN “EJ“ STITELY JR. FAIRFAX — Edward John “EJ“ Stitely Jr., 42, passed away April 16, 2006, in Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans after a long and courageous battle with cancer. EJ was born on July 20, 1963, in Long Beach, Calif., son of Edward J. Sr. and Esther Stitely. On June 14, 1997, he wed Clarissa Marmolejo in Burlington. EJ was a member of the Burlington Masonic Lodge 100, F&AM, and the United Church of Fairfax. He was very passionate about politics, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and his work as an electrician. He valued and embraced his friends and family. EJ taught Clarissa gardening and together they cultivated their life and their garden. He was well read, knowledgeable in many areas, and always had a good sense of humor and positive attitude. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Clarissa (Marmolejo) Stitely of Fairfax; his parents, Edward John Sr. and Esther Stitely of Johnstown, Pa.; one brother, Eric J. Stitely and wife Pansy of Hurt, Va.; two sisters, Esther J. “Cissi“ Vitalie and husband John V. of Johnstown, Elizabeth J. Knipple and husband Danny of Johnstown; his mother-inlaw, Carmen Caballero of Austin, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Phillip Marmolejo and wife Priscilla of Austin, Adrian Marmolejo and wife Jennifer of Austin; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Marmolejo of Austin, Patricia Marmolejo of Austin, Leticia Merchant and husband Tommy of Colchester; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his precious cat, Callie. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. in A. W. Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main St., Fairfax. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, at 10 a.m. in the United Church of Fairfax with the Rev. Elizabeth Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Sanderson Corners Cemetery.
