The latest selectboard meeting mentions that work on the bridge is scheduled to start on April 15, 2010

April 15 is the date that VT AOT is allowing as the earliest "start date" for any serious construction projects within the state right of way. I've got a decent project going on in another town in chittenden county right now that we got the ok to start early b/c of the nice weather, and we weren't working withing the actual roadway. But we were told if the weather turns for the worst before the April 15th date we would have to shut down. Just throwing out some general info if anyone was wondering where the April 15th date probably came from.

I'd BET money it is due to either the road weight of vehicles and or the migratory bird regulation.
I'd check the migratory bird regulation 1st.
It is silly.

Two of the beams on a trailer is nearly 25 Tons + trailer + tractor <= 40T (has to be without special permitting). Just like logging trucks during spring break-up we can't ship on certain roads until after VT-trans lifts the weight restrictions.

Make the check out to VT DOT?
