Title: Oh, I missed one - VAT
Post by: rdmapes on April 09, 2010, 07:01:18 PM
All,
Here is another tax our representative government is considering. I imagine this could possibly make things more expensive?

Maybe it is time to get rid of politicians who have served over 6 years and get some new blood that understands a balanced check book?

Enjoy,
Ron

Chris,
Since you are running for office here is some interesting articles for you and anyone else who has time to read. Historical data from two different sources. I need to poke around at the .gov site for US Code and see what I can find there.

If anyone believed BHO then we really have problems. I remember when he was on 60 minutes a couple of years before he announced running for President. I knew then he was a Socialist and figured he would win if he ran. Remember that the socialist/communist governments won in different parts of the world because they were able to enlist the uneducated by promising money, and all sorts of goodies. In the end the human element was corrupt and only the wealthy benefited while life for everyone except the elite got worse.

This is called "buying votes with hotdogs."  The poor and uneducated votes can be bought cheap (and easily).  Since there are way more poor, it's easier to win elections if you can rally them to vote by giving them a sense of entitlement and telling them they only get what they are "entitled to" if they vote.

hmmm...

Would these be examples:

Buying votes to pass a health care bill that contained more then health care (I think it maybe call pork)?
Or giving ownership in a car company without investing in it?
Bailing out an auto company so the funds can be used to build plants off shore?
How about bailing out banks that were run into the ground?
Granting favors to the unions?

Of course this is all hypothetical.
