-- A man driving a tractor was struck by a freight train and killed Tuesday near St. Albans.
Police are not releasing the deceased man's name, but said he was in his late 60s or early 70s and was crossing the tracks while driving a backhoe across the tracks when the train struck him.
Another person was also walking near the tracks and was transported to the hospital. That person's condition has not been released.
The crash occurred near Route 7 in a farm field at about 11:30 a.m.
