"Hi Henry . . .
Have you seen a humming bird yet up there in East Fairfax? Pauline saw one this morning at the feeder that we had put out about a week ago?
Guess they know when to come back...AFTER the last significant snow stoms have ended (I hope!) Now we can enjoy Spring.
Take care~

To be honest, I have not given a thought to putting up my hummingbird feeder yet - Haven't even got the leaves out of my flowers in front of the house yet - Got to be old age or laziness I guess.

Hi Henry,
I saw my first hummingbirds on Saturday evening. A male and a female. I usually have the first hummingbird(male) on May 10, with the female about a week later. If they had come on the 10th, the feeding ports would have been covered in snow.
I also caught sight of my first bluebird today, checking out a bluebird house in my yard.

Saturday was the first I saw one too, even though my feeder had been up for more than a week. I have had them as early as the 1st week of May in the past and was surprised to see them arrive so late this year.
